COMMUNITY IMPACT THROUGH COMMUNITY INVESTMENT
The Family YMCA of
Northwest Illinois will continue the Annual Campaign to raise funds as a
non-profit Christian organization in 2019. Traditionally, the Annual Campaign
is an opportunity for local businesses, YMCA staff, members, and residents of
the region to assist families and individuals in their community to pursue life-enriching
programs through subsidized costs at the “Y.”
In 2018, the “Y” was
fortunate to grant an approximate of $60,000 back into the community. One
hundred percent of the proceeds are utilized to enhance lives and distribute
resources including: feeding children in the before and after-school care
program, summer camp scholarships, and subsidized memberships and programs for
low-income households.
“I have high
expectations for this year’s annual campaign as the community has continued to
resonate with the mission and values of the YMCA and the need for the Y
continues to grow in our community. For
us, it’s never been about what the Y can accomplish on it’s own, but what we as
a community can do to make sure the needs of our neighbors are being met,” said
Marketing Director Moriah Schau.
The Annual Campaign
is founded on values that ensure relationships in the region are flourishing
with core qualities of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. Donations
from the campaign serve districts including: Freeport, Cedarville, Lena,
Dakota, Orangeville, Pearl City, Lanark, Shannon, Durand, Pecatonica, Stockton,
Warren, Forreston, Rock City, and Davis.
